Accommodation

You will be staying at 2/3 star hotel in Lhasa. All rooms are on twin-shared basis. Single bedroom will be arranged on request and will cost additional. Utmost Adventure will arrange rooms with attached washrooms in Tibet.

Meals

Breakfast will be provided during the tour. Lunch at local restaurants during the tour and dinner you can choose in any restaurant in the town or can be arranged on at the hotel we staying . There will also be welcome or farewell dinners taking place for guests. Authentic Tibetan and Continental meals are common choices in the Tibetan menu.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Tibet Cultural Tour is an easy tour. Travelers who can sit 5-6 hours a day on an uphill and downhill drive will consider this trip fulfilling and enjoyable. It is a good idea to prepare for the tour by jogging and exercising regularly at least for a month prior undertaking the trip. Touring in Tibet should be relatively easy for those who have experience in trekking in high altitudes. Determination, good physical health and positive attitude are good preconditions for a successful accomplishment of the trek. Past hiking experience in high altitude would definitely be an asset but no particular technical skills are required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Utmost Adventure before booking the trip for their own safety reasons.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for Tibet cultural tour is during Autumn, Spring, Summer (February to December) and The temperature is moderate and guarantees amazing views throughout the trip.

Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa (3,650m):

Fly to Lhasa, about 1 hour flight offer panoramic Himalayan views including Mt. Everest. And other mountains ranges. Pick up from Gonggar airport, after finished immigration formalities it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive along 93 km road leading to Lhasa. It is advisable to rest in Hotel. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 02: Lhasa sightseeing tour – Sera Monastery, Norbulinka, Jokhang Temple and Barkor Street. Overnight in Lhasa.

Your tour starts visiting many historical place and monument. An experience tour guide will take you to visit to Sera Monastery, this preserved monastery of white washed wall and golden roofs. Norbulinka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lma, another important sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism the Jokhang Temple and the local market at Barkhor Street. Finally, the tour for the day ends as you return to the comforts of your hotel. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 03: Lhasa Sightseeing tour – Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery. Overnight in Lhasa.

Like the previous day, you experience invaluable insights during your visits to Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery. This 17th century Potala Palace offers an awesome view of entire city and also has private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand state rooms and chapels. Ancient history has it that Drepung Monastery which was built in 14th century used to shelter around 10,000 monks but as now there has been quite a declination resulting in only few hundreds. Tibetans’ respect and belief are immensely knotted with this monastery. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 04: Lhasa- Yamdrok-Tso- Lhasa:

Early morning tour from Lhasa , we will drive about 119km to the beautiful holy lake of Yamdrok Yumtso Lake. After enjoy the stunning natural scenery there, we’ll drive back to Lhasa and visit the Tibetan Museum for some precious collections through the long history of Tibet. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 04: Lhasa to Gangkor Airport for the flight to your onward destination:

Early morning we drive to the Gangkor Airport for the flight to Kathmandu or to your onward destination. Flying back to Kathmandu offers beautiful an hour trans-Himalayan flight that takes us over Everest (8,848m), Kanchenjunga (8,536m) and other Himalayan peaks and glaciers.
